We had 19 people correctly predict all 12 bouts. The first tiebreaker was the point differential in the final game. The predicted point differentials for our winners are shown above (the actual difference was, of course, ONE, so the lowest predicted spreads were our winners). There was a tie for 5th place (after removing Pepa based on Rule #8 below...don't feel too bad for her -- she did get the Hydra after all!) so the next tiebreaker had to be used. Julie Gray was closer to predicting the point total of the champion, so she gets 5th place.

Our five winners will each receive a $25 Gift Certificate from Wicked Skatewear as well as one of the following prizes (1st place gets first choice, and so on):

Contest Rules
  1. To enter the contest, predict the winner of each of the 12 bouts, predict the final score of the final bout, and provide your name and email address.
  2. You will make all 12 predictions before the tournament begins. No changes may be made once the tournament starts.
  3. Your score will be determined as follows: 1 point for each correct first-round prediction (4 total); 2 points for each correct second-round prediction (8 total); 4 points for each correct third-round (semi-final) prediction (8 total); 6 points for correctly predicting the 3rd-place team (6 total); 8 points for correctly predicting the tournament champion (8 total). The maximum number of points you can score is 34.
  4. One entry per person! If you enter multiple times, only that LAST entry you submit will be scored.
  5. The entry deadline is 12:01 AM CST on Friday, November 5, 2010 (the day the tournament begins).
  6. All predictions will be posted online once the entry deadline has passed (email addresses will NOT be posted online).
  7. The final list of prizes will be announced on November 5th. The contest winner will get their choice of prize. The contest runner-up will get second choice, and so on. The exact number of prizes has not yet been determined, but we have FIVE prizes lined up so far.
  8. No one directly associated with Derby Deeds, Dave Wood Photography, or the prize providers is eligible to win prizes. They are, however, free to enter the contest for bragging rights.
  9. In the event of a tie, the following tiebreakers will be used (in order) until the tie has been broken:
    1. Number of games correctly predicted.
    2. Correct prediction of the tournament champion.
    3. Correct prediction of the 2nd place team.
    4. Correct prediction of the 3rd place team.
    5. Correct prediction of the 4th place team.
    6. Final bout score point differential (e.g. if you predict 120-90, you're predicting a 30-point differential; if the actual score was 115-100, you're off by 15).
    7. Final bout score for the winning team (e.g. in the previous example, you're off by 5).
    8. If all else fails, we'll break the tie by drawing names out of a hat on video.
